Hello all,
There’s an interesting saying that we have in raising children, “There’s more caught than taught”. The thought being is that children are taught much, but they seem to catch more by watching what we do. So the example we set, the life we live speaks very loudly into the lives of our children. Paul told the Philippian church the same type of thing.
Philippians 3:17 (ESV) — 17 Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us.
Living a life of godliness as an example for others is critically important for us. First, God calls us to that very thing. Secondly, it’s a powerful way that the Spirit uses that example, to influence others to follow Jesus as well. With a heart filled with gospel conviction and Jesus’s love, let’s be an example of humble godly living for all to see.
