Hello church,
There’s one mindset and attitude that is a major contributor to a whole lot of pain and hurt in relationships. Unforgiveness can be a massive step that leads to a truckload of brokenness that brings about so much devastation in our lives. Jesus through His life, death, and resurrection gives us the heart and power to pursue forgiveness.
Ephesians 4:32 (ESV) — 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
The basis of all the forgiveness that we practice comes from the ultimate forgiveness that God has shown us in Jesus Christ. When we are forgiven and set free from the chains of sin and death, we also can forgive those who sin against us. The beautiful element of the gospel here is that as we forgive others, we also get set free from the anger and bitterness that we may’ve stored up against those who’ve sinned against us.
