Good afternoon all,
The restoration of something be it an old piece of silverware or an article of high value that has fallen into a state of disrepair, back to its former glory is a wonderful thing to see. To watch all the grime and mess slowly and carefully pulled away, allowing its former beauty to begin to shine once again is an uplifting experience to enjoy. It gives you hope for the future once you can see that restoration is an option. Restoration is what we see as the final piece of the gospel.
Revelation 21:1–2 (ESV) — 1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
The end goal of the gospel is the glory of God in the restoration of His relationship with us the redeemed in Christ, the restoration of the universe to declare His glory again. The sure hope of restoration in Jesus is a powerful blessing that the Holy Spirit lodges deep down within our hearts. We have a future with Jesus that is literally out of this world.
