Welcome to summer, thankful for the Sovereign Lord who ordains our seasons of weather. Also thankful for the Lord who is the foundation of our life. This knowledge of the Lord is a pivotal foundation for understanding ourselves to successfully navigate life.
Psalm 139:13–16 (ESV) — 13 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
When we understand that we’ve all been created by God in His image, it gives us the critical starting point to understand life and know what it is to flourish in Jesus. Knowing God as our creator moves us along with a worldview that enables us to deal with and cope with life. Can you imagine trying to do life without a start or foundation point in God? Scary thought isn’t it?
