What we believe

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God. That both Old and New Testaments are God breathed

and inspired. They are without error and that they hold supreme and final authority for all Christian

faith and practice in our life.

We believe in one true and living God who is, the Sovereign Creator, eternally existing in three persons -

God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each is fully God yet distinct, and working together in perfect harmony.

We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love.

He unfailingly knows all things from beginning to end, He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of

men; He hears and answers prayer, and He saves all those who come to Him through Jesus Christ

through sin and death.

We believe Jesus God's only Son came as the saviour to bear God's wrath on our behalf for our sin as a

substitute. In this Jesus was sinless and perfect in obedience to God the Father; and thereby became the

perfect sacrifice for our salvation. Jesus fully displayed Himself as God and as man trough His virgin birth,

miracles, teachings, sinless life, death, burial, and resurrection.

We believe that the church is the body of Christ here upon Earth. That is, that the believers constitute the

church as the body and that Christ is the head of that body and therefore He leads and directs the body.

Jesus loves the church and has died for the church to redeem it.  The church universal is made up of

believers meeting together in local assemblies globally. And that the church's mandate is to worship

God, teach the believers, proclaim the gospel, and do practical good works to adorn the gospel.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the agent in regeneration. That is, that the Spirit comes to convict

of sin, righteousness, and judgement to come. The Holy Spirit enables the believer to believe,

persevere and empowers  also for witness and service. The Holy Spirit is also the believer's

abiding helper, teacher and guide through life. In this we believe in the vital work of the

Holy Spirit as an ongoing sense of progressive sanctification; the Holy Spirit is

continually empowering the believer to overcome sin and serve God. The empowering work

of the Holy Spirit is not a one off event, but a continual infilling of the Holy Spirit to be sought after.

The Holy Spirit in His sovereignty distributes gifts to believers today for the building up of the church,

to carry on the work of Jesus Christ. It's the believer's responsibility to seek and use those gifts for

the glory of God.

We believe that man was the pinnacle of God's creation being made in His image, but through man's

disobedience which the bible calls sin has earned physical, spiritual and eternal death which is separation

from God. All of mankind have inherited a sinful nature and are sinners by choice and therefore are fully

deserving of God's wrath. Man cannot save himself; that is he is without God and without hope in his

current state. Man can do nothing to recommend himself to God in a salvation sense.

We believe that Jesus is returning a second time to the earth to establish His kingdom in totality and judge

all of mankind past and present. For God's chosen ones to everlasting joy and peace, and all those

who have rejected God to everlasting hell and torment separated from God.

our mission

We live to worship & enjoy God,

by making disciples of Jesus Christ.

Exchange Church is committed to connecting people to and growing people in Jesus. Our mission is

empowered by the Holy Spirit through the gospel of Jesus Christ. We make every effort to build and

encourage a community of people to see Jesus as their supreme treasure. We know that out of this flows

a people who will be strong and flourish in all areas of life!

what to expect

Maybe it’s your first time to a church or you haven’t been for a long time. It certainly helps if you can get an idea of what’s going on.

Exchange Church meets every Sunday at the Shepparton Senior Citizens Centre. Look out for our “A” frame signs one on Welsford St and Fryers St intersection, and one at the front door. We have a great facility which is comfortable and convenient.

We love getting together to sing about Jesus and then to open up the bible. We open up the bible to discover more about Jesus so that our lives can reflect His greatness into the world and that we can be fulfilled as people. We will hear great stuff to help us become better people, better spouses, and better parents and have a healthier community.

What’s the general feeling?

We are genuinely filled with joy because of Jesus and excited that we can get together. We also understand that not everybody has the same week, could be good, could be not so good. So we are there for each other.

Who is welcome?

Anybody and everybody. Our doors are open to whoever would like to come and check us out. We don’t care where you’re from, or what you have done, or not done. You may not even know anything about God at all, doesn’t matter your welcome. Please come and visit us!

What do I wear?

Basically wear whatever you feel comfortable in.

What time do we start?

We start at 10:00 am and finish about 11:15 am approximately. We all like to hang out for a chat and chill over some coffee as well, so we do that after the meeting is over.
