Good afternoon all,

One of the most powerful stories in the Bible is the story of the prodigal son. The prodigal son had his heart set on finding life in this world, and with all the wealth his father gave him from the inheritance he set about experiencing all this world could offer. Life in this world didn’t turn out as he had thought it would, he wasn’t satisfied at all. Here’s the change of heart he experienced.

Luke 15:17–19 (ESV) — 17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have more than enough bread, but I perish here with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Treat me as one of your hired servants.” ’

It’s a telling moment when it dawns upon you that what you’ve been looking for in this world hasn’t hit the spot and your still barren and empty. Ultimately, it’s only Jesus who can satisfy us, we are made by Him and for Him. When we discover the gospel, we truly do discover life.

This weekend at Exchange Church:

  • EC Youth Friday night, 7:00pm @ the church.
  • EC Sunday gathering, 10:00am @ the Queens Gardens.
  • EC Corporate prayer, 5:00pm @ the church lounge.

Queens Gardens service.
Please remember to bring your own chair. We’ll have an extra 50 chairs for visitors who don’t bring a chair, please don’t use these plastic seats.

Let’s pray for a spirit of love to work among us and keep our eyes open for new people coming on Sunday and make sure we say hello and connect with them.
Really important that we are looking for the newcomer and genuinely making them feel welcome.

Don’t forget there’s a coffee van and BBQ, so please don’t race off after the service is completed.

Please be praying for the Holy Spirit to move upon hearts to draw people to Jesus as our great and glorious Lord.

This week for the Queens Gardens service I’ll be speaking from Mark 10:17-12 “You Lack One Thing”. Have a read of Mark 10 before Sunday.

In Christ,
